The aligner should be worn for 22 hours per day during treatment to help move teeth more quickly, or it can be used as needed to maintain the alignment of your teeth after treatment is complete. How do they work?

Toothfairy aligners are made for every case and can be customised to fit any tooth or teeth, with aligner manufacturers using a variety of methods to ensure the aligners match patients’ needs precisely. Treatment time varies from patient to patient depending on their individual dental characteristics, however it typically takes 3-6 months to fully align the teeth using aligners.

The process of making aligners:

These clear orthodontic aligners are manufactured using an advanced 3D printing process. Molds for the aligners are built in layers using a photo-sensitive liquid resin. The aligners are made from an elastic thermoplastic material that applies pressure to the teeth to move them into position. An automated process divides the desired movements into a series of “baby” steps, and each step is printed using a 3-D printer. Then, a piece of plastic is heated, pressure adapted, trimmed, and polished to custom make each aligner. These aligners are then bagged, packaged in boxes, and sent straight to patients’ homes. The aligner is fitted over the upper or lower teeth and worn full-time during treatment, or used at nighttime to maintain teeth position after treatment is complete.
